A Benefit Concert in Progress,
With advertising to local retirement homes and the Fred Fox School of Music, I am proud to announce that I have a full program of amazing performers for my benefit concert.
Now, I know the past couple weeks have been a bit sparse regarding updates on this great project. It has been extremely taxing trying to manage time, and I find myself needing to find alternate ways to manage my time than I am used to. Being at school and work all day, I nearly pass out by the time I get home at my desk or bed attempting to study! Is this a side-affect of attempted adulthood or am I not taking care of my body appropriately? It may very well be both. Either way, time management skills must improve!
I digress. The show must go on!

Originally, I wanted to have a benefit concert with Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity to donate all proceeds to their charitable arm, SAI Philanthropies, Inc. While they are still helping, I found passion to help a fellow University of Arizona Alum and his World Percussion Group.
“I found passion to help a fellow University of Arizona Alum and his World Percussion Group.”
While on tour, Alum Jeff Hewitt and his group lost tons of expensive percussion equipment and personal belongings to thieves. With tickets $5 at the door, all proceeds will go towards him and his crew to help buy new equipment to replace what was stolen.
College students reacted greatly to this news and I find myself with a full program! From CatCall A Capella to graduate pianists to the Catalina Saxophone Quartet, the concert will run roughly an hour and a half to two hours! Sigma Alpha Iota Vice President Janis Hedin has volunteered to help create the program. Since producing a concert, it is always a good skill to learn how to delegate when necessary.
The date for the “Pipes for Percussion” Benefit Concert is set for May 1st at 7:30 P.M.
I hope to see you all there!
