Embarking Entertainment Week 2

So, my task for this past week was:

Week 2: Research entertainment contracting laws in AZ. Read examples of some contracts. Talk to Moises Paiewonsky and recording and musician’s rights. Recruit people to want to record their music for the CD. Give them a spiel.

For those who do not know Moises Paiewonsky, he is phenomenally busy yet amazing at what he does. On top of being the Assistant Director of the Fred Fox School of Music (I will call it the FFSOM from now on), he is the trombone professor and the President of the Tucson Federation of Musicians.

Although I have not yet been able to speak with him, I have corresponded with Director Ed Reid of the FFSOM regarding the benefit Image result for fred fox school of musicconcert and ticket sales. Since all proceeds go towards SAI Philanthropies, Inc., the Fine Arts Box Office is unable to sell tickets to the concert. Sigma Alpha Iota and I would have to organize all monetary transactions. After all, the proceeds do not go to the university in any way.

Now, why is all of this benefit concert planning important to me?

Being President of the Alpha Beta chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota, my goal is promote the organization alongside music education and performance as much as possible. By hosting a benefit concert I get the best of both worlds! (Selfish I know.) The concert not only attracts students, since they will have the chance to perform in the concert, but it will attract people all over Tucson. This gets the Sigma Alpha Iota name out in the campus and community and sends money to a good cause – music!

Below is a link to view a sample of some recording contract drafts that I have been reviewing. This way, you won’t hear me drone on about legal writing. Who likes that?

Until next week everyone!
